So the summer is over and I just moved back to Athens, GA for fall semester at UGA. I have had a great summer, especially with Nationals in Colorado. The rest of the summer was pretty low-key, and most of my kayaking was training on flatwater. Thanks to my coach Maurizio Tognocci, I had a really great in depth training plan that kept me going to the river almost daily. I am really grateful that I was able to get in a lot of water time while I still could at home. Now I am going to start doing some more cross training with running and rowing for UGA Crew this fall. Hopefully I can get involved with the Whitewater Club at UGA and just mess around in playboats and creekboats and focus on my whitewater skills rather than my speed. I’ll keep you posted on my progress!
